We'll be supporting business through better government
A Marshall Liberal Government will remove the bureaucratic duplication that hurts businesses by ensuring that government departments report to only one minister.
In addition to the 11 traditional portfolios which include education, health and transport, we will have three specialist ministers who will manage the critical portfolios of Trade and Investment, Energy and Child Protection.
This will establish clearer lines of responsibility and deliver the focused government our state so desperately needs.
Currently chief executives of government departments answer to as many as five ministers, an arrangement the government has exploited to shift or ignore responsibility.
This arrangement of ministers makes government inefficient and leads to confusion in a cluttered and slow-moving bureaucracy.
That’s why we’re committed to simplifying the machinery of government so that businesses can get on with growing and creating jobs.
