Space: the sky is no longer the limit

We are investing in jobs of the future

What we’ll do

A Marshall Liberal Government will ensure South Australia plays a leading role in the national space agency Australia is establishing.

We have discussed the establishment of an Australian Space Agency with participants in the space industry including engineers, entrepreneurs and astronauts.

We will urge the Federal Government to locate the operations of the national agency in South Australia because of our State’s long involvement in defence and space-related work and our advanced manufacturing and technological skills base.

Why we’re doing it

Future jobs in South Australia have a much wider horizon than the sea and the sky.

Capturing the opportunities in space is also firmly on our agenda.

A national agency will be instrumental in the development of an internationally competitive domestic space industry creating high technology jobs and adding to our international reputation for innovation.

That’s why we will ensure South Australia can make the most of opportunities in this important industry.
