Transparency for retirement village water prices

What we’ll do

A Marshall Liberal Government will establish a Parliamentary Select Committee to investigate valuation policies that could impose SA Water fee increases of up to 700% on some retirement  villages.

The Committee will investigate what the South Australian Retirement Villages Residents Association (SARVRA) has described as discriminatory valuation policies.

Why we’re doing it

In response to SAVRA concerns, we have sought answers from the Valuer-General and the Weatherill Government about valuation policies but they have refused to answer any questions on this issue.

Given the current policy prevents the possibility of a 700% fee increase until 2025, there is time for an incoming government to consider the issues being raised by SARVRA.
