Upgrading CFS Stations

What we’ll do

A Marshall Liberal Government will inject $5 million into the Country Fire Service (CFS) in addition to the annual capital works, vehicles and equipment funding.

This additional funding will support CFS building upgrades including new stations, Incident Control Centres, office and ancillary buildings and increased backup power generation capacity.

Why we’re doing it

While the Government provides the CFS with annual funding this has largely been needed for vehicle and equipment upgrades and has been insufficient for the capital works needed, leading to a significant maintenance backlog.

Because of the current lack of capital investment by the Government, many CFS brigades have been fundraising themselves to simply maintain their fire stations.

That’s why we will invest in a substantial upgrade of CFS buildings to ensure they have the capacity to handle a larger intake of personnel and equipment and are fit-for-purpose.
